Born and raised in Libya, the author moved to London to get her advanced education. Upon graduation she returned to Libya and became employed at the U.S. Embassy, making close friendships with Ambassador Stevens and others when the Arab Spring broke out and the tragedies at Benghazi occurred. She presently lives in Libya, works for a global non-profit organization, and travels extensively.
